Depuis 14 ans, il occupe le poste de responsable engineering chez Patric concept SA, où il supervise une équipe de chefs de projets chargés de concevoir des machines spéciales pour les industries alimentaire, horlogère et médicale. Formé initialement en tant que constructeur dessinateur machine, il a poursuivi ses études en mécanique à l’école d’ingénieur He-arc. Sa carrière a débuté dans une entreprise régionale spécialisée dans l’automation avant qu’il ne rejoigne la société, attiré par les défis techniques et la diversité des projets. Au fil des années, il a contribué à développer avec l’équipe Patric concept une expertise reconnue dans la conception de machines d’automation, de manipulation, de palettisation, ainsi que de tests, de lavage et de robotique. Ces équipements, souvent conçus sur cahier des charges spécifique, répondent aux besoins uniques de clients exigeants, qu’il s’agisse de prototypes ou de petites séries. Né en 1976, il a fait ses études dans le canton de Neuchâtel, à l’École d’ingénieurs ETS (aujourd’hui HES), où il s’est spécialisé en mécanique. Après avoir travaillé chez Metalor Technologies dans le domaine horloger, il rejoint l’entreprise en 2003. Depuis, il occupe le poste de directeur technique et est également cogérant de cette société. À ses débuts, l’entreprise horlogère se spécialisait principalement dans la fabrication de pendulettes de voyage, qui se sont transformées en pendulettes de table et pendules murales à forte valeur ajoutée. Cela correspond à notre stratégie d’expansion que nous menons depuis quelques années. La tendance est à la concentration dans le monde de l’informatique, toujours plus complexe. En 24 mois, nous avons par exemple doublé notre effectif afin de renforcer notre présence sur ce marché concurrentiel, notamment en rachetant des petites entités comme PCshop à La Chaux-de-Fonds l’an dernier et Prana Tech Sàrl à Fribourg aujourd’hui. Sébastien, pourquoi vous êtes-vous rapproché de NETmanage SA ? Sébastien Monney : Je cherchais depuis quelques temps à me rapprocher d’un partenaire fiable et de confiance pour poursuivre mon activité. J’ai lancé seul ma société au début des années 2000. Une époque très différente de l’actuelle. Aujourd’hui, le secteur s’est énormément complexifié. On ne compte plus les solutions différentes pour exécuter une même tâche. Comment tout connaître ? Seul, il n’est plus possible d’assurer tous les services de manière satisfaisante et de continuer à évoluer positivement. Fabien Bassi : En effet, sur le marché actuel de l’IT, il devient très difficile pour les petites entités de rester compétitives, tant la palette de prestations à fournir est énorme. Les sociétés de service telles que la nôtre doivent avoir une taille critique suffisante, également pour pouvoir assurer un service à la clientèle en continu, notamment pour le support-client.
